According to the teachings of Kundalini Yoga, Gyan Chakra Kriya strengthens the nervous system, opens the heart, and builds the aura, supporting clearer thinking, steadier decision-making, and a more grounded way of leading. It enhances projection and radiance, helping you move through opportunities, and meet new ones, with greater capacity, coherence, and receptivity.
Gyan Chakra Kriya Practice
Welcome to your practice space.
Gyan Chakra Kriya, also known as Brighten Your Halo, is a Kundalini Yoga meditation you can return to each day. According to the teachings of Kundalini Yoga, this practice strengthens the nervous system, opens the heart, and builds the aura, supporting clearer thinking, steadier decision-making, and a more grounded way of leading.
It enhances projection and radiance, helping you move through opportunities, and meet new ones, with greater capacity, coherence, and receptivity.
Before you begin, you’ll find the Tuning In Mantras PDF on this page for you to access. Use this to open your practice and create a clear container before moving into the meditation.
You may practise seated on the floor in Easy Pose, or sitting upright in a chair if that is more available for your body. Keep the spine as straight as possible.
Practice Instructions
Posture
Sit comfortably in Easy Pose (legs crossed), or on a chair, keep the spine straight.
Hands
Bring the thumb and index finger together, and keep the other fingers long and together.
Movement
Lift both arms overhead.
Begin circling them in large, steady circles:
– Right arm circles one way
– Left arm circles the opposite way
Keep the movement continuous and rhythmic, about one full circle per second.
Let the arms move overhead and down to about heart level, keeping the arms moving above the heart space throughout the practice.
If your arms need a rest, you can bring them down, continue chanting the mantra, and hold the awareness or vision of the movement. Return to the full movement when you are ready.
Mantra
Chant:
Sat Naam, Sat Naam, Wha-Hay Guroo, Wha-Hay Guroo
Project the sound from the navel.
Time
Continue for 11 minutes.
In the last 30 seconds, move faster.
To Finish
Inhale, stretch the arms straight up, hugging the ears. Lengthen the spine.
Hold for 10 seconds.
Then gently twist left and right seven times.
Come back to centre and exhale.
Return to this practice daily, allowing it to build over time.
